Shayla D. Lynch

Personal Trainer/ Fitness Instructor

Shayla is a proud native of Hopkinsville, Kentucky and is a 1997 graduate of Hopkinsville High School.  Shayla is a 2001 graduate of Centre College in Danville, Kentucky where she earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in English and Government, and she is also a 2004 graduate of the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville where she earned a Juris Doctorate degree.  

Shayla has always had a passion for physical well being for many years.    With over 20 years of dance experience in tap, ballet, jazz, and modern, fitness was a natural fit for Shayla.   In 2008, Shayla D. Johnson became a certified group fitness instructor and began teaching at local YMCA facilities, locally owned Curves franchises, and the Lexington Athletic Club. 

In 2010, Shayla decided to further pursue her passion of helping everyone live healthier lives and founded "Shape It Up With Shayla," a fitness company whose mission is “To activate all of God’s children through physical fitness”.  Shayla believes that fitness is a ministry that God has given her in order help His people live healthier lives.  

Shayla has and continues to accomplish her mission each and every week by teaching effective, yet fun fitness classes and personal training sessions throughout the Lexington, Kentucky community.   Shayla is also an avid runner and has completed several half marathons and one marathon. Currently, Shayla is teaching both public and private classes.
